Technical Diver

Why IANTD Technical Diver?

The IANTD Technical Diver program is designed to provide training for divers who wish to dive to depths between 30 msw and 54 msw using custom blend breathing gas mixtures. Divers will gain a greater understanding of the use of custom blend breathing gas mixtures, a complete knowledge of the limits of any EANx mixture, and the use of EANx and oxygen for decompression.

What do you need to start?

  • Be an IANTD Advanced EANx Diver or IANTD Advanced Recreational Trimix Diver.
  • Have a minimum of 100 logged dives of which at least 30 must be deeper than 27 metres.
  • Be a minimum of 18 years of age.

What will you do?

The IANTD Technical Diver program includes a minimum of 280 minutes of open-water run time completed within at least 5 dives. Your instructor will ensure that at least two of the dives will be to depths deeper than 39 msw but no deeper than 51 msw during your course.

Dive details

Course timing is flexible dependant on weather (to access required dive sites) and participant availability. The course includes 4 evenings of theory and 5 boat dives. Open water dives are conducted with teams of no more than 3.
