Advanced Nitrox
Why IANTD Advanced Nitrox Diver?
The IANTD Advanced Nitrox Diver course is for those divers wishing to extend their knowledge with use of O2 mixes of up to 1.5 PO2. It is also valuable for divers wishing to develop their technical diving skills and those wishing to dive to depths of 42m using nitrox for accelerated decompression.
The program is designed to extend the diver’s knowledge of the use of EANx for recreational diving. It further develops diving skills and provides a greater understanding of the EANx concept of diving. The program employs EANx mixes from 21% up to a maximum of 50%.
What do you need to start?
- Be an IANTD EANx Diver or qualifying prerequisite certification.
- Be an IANTD Deep Diver or qualifying prerequisite certification.
- Have a minimum of 50 logged dives of which at least 10 must be between 27metres and 39 metres.
- Be a minimum of 15 years of age with a parent or guardian authorization, or a minimum of 18 years of age without guardian approval.
What will you do?
During the IANTD Advanced Nitrox Diver course you will learn one stage cylinder decompression techniques and understand the use of EANx mixtures from 21% to a maximum of 40% oxygen for the non-decompression portions of the dive. You will also be able to dive to a maximum of 42 metres and use nitrox (up to 50%) for accelerated decompression (total decompression not exceeding 15 minutes).
Dive details
Course timing is flexible dependant on weather (to access required dive sites) and participant availability. The course includes 5 evenings of theory, 1 confined water session and 4 boat dives. Open water dives are conducted with teams of no more than 4.
