The purpose of the course is to familiarise divers with the skills, knowledge, planning, organization,procedures, techniques, problems, hazards and excitement of diving on wrecks. The course is intended as a safe, supervised introduction to diving on wrecks. The course will cover research & location of wrecks, search & recovery techniques, salvage rights, wreck surveys and the techniques involved in safely diving and penetrating a variety of wrecks.

Pre-requisites:

PADI Advanced Open Water certification

Minimum age 15 years

Cost:$450.00 (inc. GST)


Includes the PADI Wreck Diving Manual and all tuition and four boat dives.

Requirements:

  • Complete SCUBA unit including octopus and gauges
  • Timing device,
  • Depth gauge with maximum depth indicator or computer, Compass
  • PADI RDP
  • Mask, fins and snorkel
  • Safety sausage
  • Wetsuit / drysuit, boots, gloves etc.
  • Slate and pencil
  • Logbook
  • Divers knife or cutting tool,
  • 2 passport style photographs,
  • Suggested but not mandatory: explorer reel, tether and torch

Course Content:

Four boat dives, three evenings of theory and review.

Please note

Many of the available wreck dives are in deeper water so it is an advantage to hold a deep diver certification before starting the course.
