Digital Underwater Photographer
The purpose of the PADI Digital Underwater Photographer specialty course is to familiarize divers with the skills, knowledge, planning organization, procedures, techniques, problems, hazards and enjoyment of underwater still photography. The course is intended to serve as a safe and supervised introduction to underwater still photography techniques used in the underwater environment. Skills will develop practical knowledge of photographic principles, composition, strobe and available light photography and camera-handling techniques. Care and maintenance of photographic equipment will be taught and hands on workshops will be run. The final outcome is to enable students to take underwater photographs that are properly composed, focused and exposed.
Pre-requisites:
PADI Open Water Diver certification or equivalent.
Cost: $295.00 (inc. GST)
with your own camera and strobe.
Includes 3 nights of theory, 2 open water dives and the photography manual.
Requirements:
- Complete SCUBA unit including alternate air source and gauges
- Weight belt and weights
- Mask, snorkel and fins
- Diving knife
- Wetsuit / drysuit plus boots, gloves etc
- Slate and pencil
- PADI RDP tables
- Log book
- 2 passport style photographs
Course Content:
Three evenings of theory and 2 open water dives on one day.
